Be Proud to Represent Pakistan in International Science Olympiads
The National Science Talent Contest (NSTC) is an annual event organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). The NSTC aims to promote scientific knowledge and critical thinking among young students in Pakistan. The contest has been a great success over the years, with students from all over the country participating and showcasing their talents in various disciplines of science, including Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
The 20th National Science Talent Contest (NSTC-20) will be held in July 2024, and it is an opportunity for young students to showcase their skills and represent Pakistan in international science Olympiads. The selected students will have the chance to participate in the Olympiads held in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, and Iran. The competition will take place at the Inam-ur-Rahman Auditorium in PIEAS, and the winners will receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, as well as Honorable Mentions and International Participation Certificates.
Besides the cash prizes and certificates, PIEAS will also offer admissions to the members of Olympiads Teams in its BS Programmes without any entrance examination, giving them an opportunity to pursue higher education in science and engineering.
Eligibility Criteria for NSTC-20
To be eligible for NSTC-20, students must meet the following criteria:
Students of Pre 9th, 9th, 10th & 11th grade (Matric/ O-Level & FSC-1/ A-Level-1). Students who are currently studying in FSC (Part-II) / A-Level (Part-II) & University students are not eligible to apply.
Aggregate marks of 60% or more in core subjects, i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, in the last exam.
Age less than 20 years on 30th June 2024.
Screening Test and Test Centers
The screening test for NSTC-20 will be held in ten major cities of Pakistan, including Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Quetta, and Gilgit. The test date is 19th March 2023, but the last date to apply is 20th Febuary 2023.
How to Register for NSTC-20
Interested students can register for NSTC-20 online by visiting www.stem.edu.pk. The registration process is straightforward and easy to follow. Once registered, students will receive further instructions on how to prepare for the screening test.
